HAPPY NEW YEAR

We went and watched the fireworks on the banks of the yukon river. Never thought i'd ever be able to say that. it had warmed up a bit from the day of -32 to being about -24.. much better. Video'd the fireworks so hope you can see them

scenery

the cool thing about the Yukon is the distance u can see from jsut about anywhere. Have to excuse the crack in the windshield. Most cars etc have them from the sanding of the roads, but the view is great. U can see for miles but its not flat.

So life here is geting to be normal. no job yet but thats ok. Ill get on someday or my ui will start..as soon as fields gets me my ROE. head office can be slow. Oh well one of these days ill go to the mail box and it will be there.It still seems a bit sureal that im here, it seemed to take so long to get packed and to get here and now... i've been here jsut about 1 month. hard to believe.

we fixed the christmas lites outside yesterday and he is pluging the village truck in at nite time now. as its -22. Have the mail to check today so tahts my outting lol maby see if g i joe is in too lol

smoking mtn

U can see 3 plums of smoke coming from inside the mtn. there's a mine in there that caught on fire many years ago and its still on fire and will continue on for many years. Its illegal to go up there and the gasses are poisnious but of course ppl have to try and some have died. silly ppl.

Nordenschol river

This is the river we go over every day going into the Village but we are at a different place looking at it. The water is going over ice to keep flowing. Its realy great and pretty.Ill add another blog in a bit showing u the mtn thats on fire.. inside.

the icy river

Well here's the video of the ice on the Yukon river. If u listen closly u can hear the ice grinding against the ice on the shore. I"m wondering how long it will take to totaly ice over. Today was a sunny day which of course means taht it will be cold. Started out at -25 and now is -16 so warmed up a bit. I will add more video's of the river freezing over as it get more on it.

Frozen river

This is a river we go over when we go into the village, Its mostly frozen and as it gets colder it will freeze mostly all over. Last year they nearly had the bridge undermined with high water, and large ice blocks, but they were lucky and the river went down and the bridge is ok. I'll get video of the yukon river as it freezes over. When we went into Whitehorse yesterday we went to Wal-mart and i needed an adaptor for my camera to hold the memory card, a dumb thing sony did years ago, and they had one with a 2 g card and now.. yay i can take over 1000 pic's. soo much better and i have another card so i can take it with just incase i need back up lol.

settling in more

Hummm Maby i should change the name of this from trip to Carmacks to here at last lol.. cause not doing that ever again. when i go to get the last of my stuff im flying and shipping my stuff back here and flying back. No more 4 day driving trips for me. Bill and i might drive places in the summer but we will be able to take turnes which is much better. and will have a human to talk to unlike my trip here with only buster and Kyia to talk to. not so good :) My computer room is all done now. Just need some shelves up to put stuff on and i have a shelf to put in the living room somday also. I'm trying not to think of all the work i have to do at the old place. UG there is alot that can go to the kids or get sold in a yard sale and what does not get sold or taken can go to the second hand store and she can deal with it.. tired already lol.
Bill came home for lunch and i have a video of him playing with Buster. He realy likes buster..
they had a good time as u can see lol had to rescue the hat finally.. :)
